Dave McCombs: Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan; The idea for New Guerrilla Theatre grew out of efforts to develop and produce Rock the Casbah, a jukebox musical I wrote. Producing musical theatre presents immense challenges, especially to people who do not already have experience producing music and theatre. New Guerrilla Theatre is our way to break through those challenges. We will be developing and producing a series of musicals, including Rock the Casbah, with an emphasis on work that has social and political relevance to our time and place. I've also written a children's musical called Where in the World. I'm currently writing a second jukebox musical called Train, Train. New Guerrilla Theatre provides performing artists with opportunities in music, theatre, dance and production. My day job is covering business and financial news in Tokyo for the best media organization on the planet.
